Andrew Lucas Studios has received its first industry award after picking up a Mark of Excellence accolade for its VR design work at CES 2018.

The company came out on top in the Emerging Technology category for a ‘Virtual Smart Home’ created for use by sister company Andrew Lucas London. The experience allows users to fully explore a modern smart home, allowing real-time interaction with various home technology elements such as motorised blinds, TV systems and even an outdoor security camera whose light that turns on when the user looks towards it.

Several information points are strategically placed throughout the build, giving users useful context that allows them to understand the various technological features and how they tie in with each other in a residential environment.

“The whole VR design team is elated to have our work celebrated at such a high-profile event,” submits Tomek Florczak, Projects Director at Andrew Lucas Studios. “As the first major award for our VR division, it’s somewhat fitting that it was a project for our sister company, which we used to be a part of, that was selected. We hope this is the first of many to come.”

Andrew Lucas London also had a successful CES, coming away with two further Mark of Excellence awards in the Luxury Home of the Year ($150,000 – $300,000) and Home Theater/Media Room Project of the Year ($50,000 – $150,000) categories for its recent Highbury smart home project.

“We’re exceptionally pleased to have won two awards for our Highbury project so soon after the project was completed,” notes Technology Director Wojtek Zajac, who managed the project build. “Highbury was a complex, rewarding project that challenged us as a design and installation team and we’re delighted that our efforts have been recognised by the awards committee.

The awards were presented at a ceremony at CES in Las Vegas on 10th January and were picked up by Chairman and Founder Krystian Zajac on behalf of the company.
